Hi, I just discovered your blog and absolutely love it! Very inspiring.

We are in the deschooling phase of our unschooling adventure and have joined a democratic school (i suppose that's a bit like your coops or self directed learning centers) here in the South of Belgium with our two sons aged 4 and 7.

Wondering where you found your easle for the art books propping, such a good idea & also curious what you mean by journaling in your schedule - is it you writing in your journal or all kids together taking down/drawing key insights/highlights from the day? Finally, if you have a new link on the topic of screentime I'm totally a taker, the one posted above doesnt seem to work anymore. It's a tricky topic in our family right now, as is sugar/candy. We go from total detox to a set number of time per week on set days, to a more free approach - but we havent found what works best for us yet. I am thinking of starting regular family council meetings to discuss and agree this things as a family. Any pointers much appreciated.

Hi Sara! I was re-reading your post (I already read it 2 years ago but read it again today because my daughter is now 4 and we are starting to think about getting a bit more “organised” with our days) and I was wondering if you were still working like this now. This post was written 3 years ago and I was wondering if your rhythm or your way of organising your day had changed/evolved in anyway… Thanks for all the sharing and beautiful ideas and pictures, I love your blog! It is really inspiring!

Hi Sara,
I know this is quite a late reply to your post but I was hoping you could help me out with something. I can't seem to get the balance right with screen time, if I give my five year old the power to choose when to have screen time and how much, he literally spends 80% of his waking hours watching Pokemon movies. We are looking to start natural based homeschooling with him some time this year (depending on home renovations) so I thought I would use the school holidays to ease off my control of screen time, but after about 4/5 weeks I couldn't handle it anymore and have been commenting about how detrimental it is to his mood and health etc and have started putting a limit on how much he has each day. I know this may be discussed somewhere else on your blog, so if so please direct me there. Also I love love your blog, so inspiring and it looks as though you and your beautiful family enjoy a beautiful life. So THANKYOU for all your effort!!

I like your idea about having a few activities set out for them in the morning. I have the same issue that my oldest (4) will get up in the morning and want to do nothing but watch TV! I know that if I have more interesting things for him to do, TV is not such a temptation, but I hadn't thought of having things prepared in advance for him. Thanks!
