My heart is breaking after reading this article. It breaks for all the children who remain in and will enter the public school system because we are like sheep and we feel that is “Just what you do.” We have twins that we have decided to home school for all the reasons listed in this article. We are both nurses, not teachers, but it was interesting to have so many professionals validate our own feelings and concerns over the current school system. This was beautifully written. I had concerns before about whether or not we were doing the right thing, but now I feel completely confident in the decision we have made.
