A project of Miss 15’s from a few months ago that I’ve been meaning to share.

She wanted a new desk for her room and decided to repurpose an old vanity we had. She’d never done anything like this before. We checked in with a knowledgeable friend about the best way to approach it and then she got to work.

Sanded, painted, decoupaged, ripped off the old mirror.

It was an ugly, yellowed, slightly damaged piece before. Now it’s completely hers.

This is what I love about unschooling.

The myth is that if we don’t force kids to learn, they won’t choose to. That they'll sit around doing nothing all day.

This couldn't be further from the truth. But it also doesn't mean we do nothing. Creating a family culture of activiely pursuing our interests has always been important to me, and my kids consequently usually have a project or two on the go.

This month I’m sharing exactly how we build that kind of project culture inside my Inspiration Is Here subscription.
